When you think print as a designer it’s most of the time flyers, business cards or brochure. But have you thought about labels for digital materials like cds or dvds?
The use for digital disc is everywhere and they all need a nice label. Who would want to spend money on something that looks like it been burnt in you bedroom with a nice “client 01″ written with a big marker. It’s the details that often split good and bad designers. Their are loads of free cds labels out there for you to get started. And if you equipped with a good printer you can even print straight on the cd for an even better result.
Now if you need a large quantity of those disc for a big client then it might be worth turning to a professional company offering CD duplication. It’s quicker and the result is much more professional. Because when you don’t have a 10 cd burner, it’s gonna take some time to get, say, 1000 copies.
I use cds to end all the artwork over to the client because emailing more than 10mb is not possible and printing source file go above this this limit all the time. Would be so cool to be able to give usb dongle with your brand on it instead…but that’s just not the same cost unfortunately.
