Of course for all you Starbucks addict the coffee is what matters and the corner near the window is your private office but for the rest of us the room that is used as office needs to be optimal.
I would certainly start by recommending to buy a real office desk and office seating. A good chair is essential to keep a good back and a good desk is important to organised your work and your work station.Space is important and when projects start coming in you will some to keep yourself from drowning under piles of paper and documents. Trays and drawers will save you, trust me.
Lights are important and if you are not lucky enough to have windows in your office you definitely need some good bright lights. Plus a small light behind your screen can reduce the eye effort when staring at a bright screen.
And don’t forget to place inspirational stuff around like posters, plants and other object you like. It’s called an office but it is also where you are creative. More kind of a playground than an office in my case really…
