I wrote about bookmarklet before and while my different script were not always useful/working I definitely think they are interesting.
I don’t remember where I got this link but here is a very complete resource of bookmarklet for designer / developer. Ranging from grid frame to accessibility testers, some might help you in your daily routine.

My favorite is certainly the Spry Medias one which display grid, ruler and mouse coordonnees. Plus it works, which is not the case of all the others unfortunately.
Fancy javascript is never easy, cross browser fancy javascript is even worst. But with the democratisation of powerful javascript engine in navigator in the future bookmarklet might become real powerful tools.
