Stefan Persson, winner of the week

This week it’s again a clean typographic website that made top of the gallery selection. Lucky I have no one to argue about who should win. Being the only one behind the site has some advantage indeed… Anyway, Stefan Persson blog is my pick for this week.

Breathable design

It really had a wow effect on me when I opened the site to check it. Very simple yet so full of little details. This guy has put some though into the layout that’s for sure. It is not the most original site but every element seems to have its place and fit the grand design of the page. Subtly crafted, with some hints of colours, the eye breath while reading the content.

Coding wise

Xhtml strict valid, I already like it. The code is clean but I would have done a few thing differently. For example the div with an id menu nested with a ul. Put the id on the ul and get rid of the div, ul is a block element, it doesn’t need any box around it. Except for styling purpose, which is not the case here.

Same for the date div nested with a p. I bet it is possible to do the same effect with just the p. P is a block element as well so no need for div around it here.

A shame it’s not written in a language I understand, I am sure there are nice blog posts here. Thanks Stefan, good inspiration here.
