An other week, an other late post… So for those who follow each Friday post I apologize for the last one, which didn’t see the light on time.
So the best site I got last week was certainly Something Interesting, a small web agency based in Portsmouth. More than the excellent design and coding of the site it is really the approach they explain on the website that got my attention. They describe in 8 points how the building process goes with them.
And I have to say I agree 200% on the way they do it. If you take the first 4 steps it basically talk. Talk is very important in our industry, with the client of course but also between the team. You never know what crazy idea you will find in your team mates head…
The design
Half between glossy 2.0 and typographic I would say. I like the black background, for once it breaks a bit the standards white/clean. The logo is very clever, taking the different services icons to spice up the “Something” a bit. I wonder if the “g” at the end is meant to copy the Google font (which would make sense because they do seo I think).
Nice fancy javascript with fade in/fade out for the gallery and team pictures.
The code
Xhtml strict, good code to content ratio (understand: more content than code). They use mootools for the javascript framework.
