Sketch early, sketch often

That what’s missing on many design nowadays.  People are getting better with Photoshop or equivalent so they stop drawing. So easy to press ctrl+n and start laying down some random layers. Even when you’ve got a clear idea of what you are going to design don’t rush it.

Give it some thoughts, start writing some ideas, main guidelines, goals. Then a quick sketch. How many columns, footer, header, pictures, etc.

I think I’ve got it sorted I usually do a last sketch, bigger with a few more details. Don’t be afraid about the paper. No one will judge you on your illustration skills when your job is designing website. Drawing boxes is all you need to know.
