Schneider Garten, last week’ winner

Even if I don’t understand a word of German, I would trust this company because their web presence is far above the competition. Design is multicultural and multi language. That’s why a good design gives more credit to a company, which on the web, is everything.

Thought, my choice from last week submission went to Schneider Garten, a landscaping (?) company from Germany. The site use the trendy grungy-textury look that goes so well with organic stuff.

High quality textures and images completed by a nice set of hand drawn icons gives the feeling of the site. I found the hand written stuff on the sides, that seems to show the main part, very well thought. Neat indeed.

The animated parts are powered by jQuery using a few plugins like Fancy box (lightbox), scrollTo and easySlider. For a one page website it’s making quite a lot of http request. 10 just for the javascript files. Might be worth having them all in one file. Other than that the code is tidy and of course valid (Strict please).

There is one thing I don’t get thought. Why using a fieldset for each sets of label/input?.

Anyway, those guys from Paiko seem to know what they’re doing, well done.
