It’s all over the internet now. Designers and developers want to kill it and eventually we’ll win the war. They are a few script around that display some pop up to tell the users of ie6 to update to a newer version of it. The one I’ve just installed on the gallery is called IE6 Update.
It’s a very simple code you can cut and paste in your page that will display a bar at the top, similar to a genuine windows update message. Only IE6 users will see it of course, it’s hidden behind a conditional comment.
25% of the visitors using IE browsing the gallery are on IE6 so i’ll see it I get this down over the next few weeks.
