The next gen browser from Mozilla as been on the way since a few month now. The last public beta, the 4th released, brings it even closer to us. Among loads of improvement behind the scene here is what I would note:
- New Javascript engine called TraceMonkey for improved performance and stability
- New Gecko engine (1.9.1) for improved speed in rendering web pages.
- Private Browsing mod (also known as “Porn” mod”) similar to the private browsing mod in Google Chrome
- Support for more CSS 3 rules
- Support for Html 5 with localStorage, Drag and Drop API and Offline resources.
- Support for native JSON
All this sounds really good and I can’t wait to test the new javascript engine. Of course using the current beta is only recommended for developer. Plus some addons might not work yet.
