Every details count, don’t forget the favicon!

We all know a good design is all about the details. Those little things you don’t but do notice. A 1px line, a shadow there. Often you can’t tell exactly why you like a website but you recognize straight away that some thought and care have been put into it. One of the thing that beginners tend to forget is the favicon.

So what is it? The favicon is the little 16×16 pixel image you see in the tab/bookmark/address bar of your browser. As little as 16 pixels go it is still very important because it is what will differentiate your site is a bookmarks list.

Here are a few nice favicon from big  and small sites:

Don’t miss an opportunity to add some good details to your site!
