This week it’s a rather grungy website that made it to the top. Corvus a design studio from California have recently redesigned their website for something more “organic”. I haven’t add a chance to see the previous unfortunately but I love this one.
The design here is all about textures and colours. I’ve put it into the wide background section but it would also fit with the grungy sites. Labels, paper texture and hand drawn stuff on an impressive water colour background, this website shows the attention that has been put into it.
The code is more clean than grungy, validating the xhtml Transitional doctype. One thing that I noticed is it’s well commented and in a clever way. I see often comments for opening and closing parts of the code but here they just comment the closing bits, because the opening make enough sense just reading the ids. I don’t understand why not using an unordered list for the the menu rather than <br> though. But different people different coding habits I guess.
