The author of this site originally submitted a micro site about his panda on sale. But because the car was already sold when I visited it I saw there was no point advertising this so I started looking at the root domain from where the panda site was.
That’s when I discovered the blog of Cole Henley. It’s not the kind of site that would give me this “wow” effect but after some time I can say I quite like it.
The design
Red and white go very well together. When used as the only two colours on the page it gives a strong filling. But on the other hand, the gentle curves of the header, footer and search box compensate this a bit and help the design to retain its balance. I don’t know what’s the font used in the headers yet but I really like. Kind of retro serif font, it reminds me of those American coffee shops you see in old movies.
The code
As clean as the website. Some conditional stylesheets at the top for ie and then just nice standard xthml. I can’t figure out what CMS is used here. Homemade I guess.
Keep up the good work Cole!

Hey
Thanks for featuring the site. To answer your questions the site is built using the marvellous textpattern blogging/CMS, with the featured font the suitably retro Ballpark Weiner available at Da Font.
Thanks again for the feature. Keep up the good work,
Cole
Hum textpattern… I’ve heard of it but never actually worked with it. I might give it a go in future projects. Thanks for the insight.
